India Mahdavi & Laduree at Hôtel des Bergues, Geneva

You couldn’t wish for a more apt collaboration, as a designer known for her candy coloured interiors, Parisian based Iranian designer India Mahdavi has applied her whimsical style to the most recent Ladurée Cafe opening in the Four Seasons Hôtel des Bergues, Geneva.

It was Ladurée President David Holder of the Holder Group (who purchased Ladurée in 1992) who approached Mahdavi to inject some magic into this new location.

The ‘Garden of Delights’ style space features a patisserie, restaurant and tea lounge. The lounge is decorated in a dark forest green palette (an area that can be reserved for private events) whilst the restaurant is filled with curving forms, bench counters and brass detailing.

The diamond monochrome floor, fluted counters, soft pastel hues and meringue shaped button back upholstery and lighting details all add that extra Mahdavi touch.

 

The French luxury bakery Ladurée was founded in Paris in 1862 by Louis Ernest Ladurée. Today, the name is synonymous with the two layered macaroon of which Ladurée stores around the world sell more than 15,000 a day.

The brand includes five segments from macaroons and chocolates to beauty, bath and body products.
