FURNITURE > Les Nécessaires d’Hermes >> Philippe Nigro
“Faithful to its contemporary artisan ethos, Hermès continues to explore the home environment, creating objects of useful intelligence and discreet elegance to bring a touch of soul to everyday living.”
Pierre-Alexis Dumas, Hermès Artistic Director
We are continually inspired by Hermès’ vision for the home. Each piece that has been designed whether by Jean-Michel Franks in the 1920s and 1930s or Shigeru Ban a few years ago, are all exceptionally designed. Their most recent collection entitled, Les Nécessaires d’Hermes was created by French designer Philippe Nigro. Loosely translated the collection takes inspiration from everyday useful utensils for the home, each performing several different functions. Whether for storage, sitting or relaxing, hidden storage and surprising features have been included into each design.
The Groom Valet above includes a range of storage and hanging features that are both practical and easy to use. Manufactured according to the highest standard, the metallic structure is covered in solid Canaletto walnut wood, with brushed stainless steel feet.
Below, Cheval-d’Arçons, has also been crafted in solid Canaletto walnut wood, upholstered in bullcalf leather with the option to upholster in a house fabric. These are just two of my favourite pieces in this most recent collection.
