INTERIORS: A Mountain Retreat in Val d’Isere

With every project undertaken, Nicky will always begin with the client brief. For this project in Val d’sere, this Penthouse was part of a larger project in which Nicky designed a series of apartments from the ground up. Starting with just a piece of land each apartment needed to reflect the clients needs for comfort, relaxation and individuality.

This penthouse was designed for a family of keen skiers, a place to unwind with their family and friends, offer flexible sleeping arrangements, and to cater to occupying teens and adults with various dens and living rooms.

Timber and local stone are the two dominant features of the building, and are reflected on the inside of the building also in the hallways, dining room, bathrooms and spa room.

Comfort is the ultimate luxury, and so Nicky opted for her classic palette of rich wools, leather, velvets, sheepskin, cashmere, and signature warm furs to cocoon in after a long day on the pistes.
