Interiors: Tour a Family Ski Home in Switzerland

Pairing richly textured fabrics and soft yet masculine patterns with warm wood detailing, Nicky has designed another sumptuous year-round retreat in Saas Fee, Switzerland for a British family with young children.

The entrance to the chalet features a smooth stone staircase with a hand stitched leather railing and glass balustrade. Contrasting the sleek elements of the staircase is a rough stone wall, with continues throughout the chalet.

The family living room is clad in old timber and is an inviting space to gather after a day of outdoor activities. It features a soft palette of wool and velvet fabrics, a signature look for Nicky. The space flows into the dining room and kitchen beyond.

Mounted at the top of the staircase is an ibex head, which gives a nod to the rustic outdoor surroundings.

The wood ceiling and floors in the kitchen are contrasted by white cabinetry and colourful plaid upholstery.

The master bedroom has a richly layered comfortable look with a tartan headboard and fur throw from Nicky’s ND Collection (view here).

The guest bedroom has a hint of glamour with a white fur throw from Nicky’s collection and bedside tables made from vintage crocodile trunks. Another guest bedroom below, a twin features neutral grey wool and timber headboards with tartan curtains.

An additional guest bedroom above, another twin features a bespoke built in bed frame with cosy Arpin blankets and Atelier Areti reading lamps.

In the television room on the lower level, a cowhide rug and fur cushions are contrasted with herringbone wool sofa upholstery and tartan curtains which were hand made in England.

The outside terrace includes an outdoor fireplace and thick sheepskins so it can be enjoyed day and night.
