April Book of the Month // Mountain Retreats

We are delighted to share visuals from “Mountain Retreats” by Beta-Plus Publishing as our Book of the Month this April.

The follow-up volume of “Modern Mountain Hideaways” displays the charm of nature, while winning over the viewer with contemporary designs, which range from the classical wooden house with flat gabled roof, to the high-tech mountain hut.

This new book profiles twelve new and recent private mountain chalets, NDID features across 21 pages sharing two of our recent chalet interiors. Stylish photography captures the casual mountain style of these exclusive retreats set amidst impressive scenarios. The diversity of interiors ranges from comfortable cabins filled with antiques and family heirlooms, and European-style homes, to modern chalets designed with a modern, minimalist touch, both inside and out.

Our first featured project, Chalet le Grenier is a stunning chalet situated in the Morel region in the heart of Méribel in France.

Arranged over five floors, with a lift, this expansive chalet has been described as “the epitome of alpine luxury”. The chalet has been created with relaxation and enjoyment at the forefront of its design.

The huge double height sitting room has floor to ceiling windows with wonderful mountain views and large comfortable sofas to sink into at the end of a day on the slopes. There is comfort and elegance throughout and being right next to the piste it is the perfect ski in and ski out family chalet too.

If you need a little pampering to soothe aching limbs there is a private spa below with a jacuzzi, a sauna or a private masseur in the massage room. Meanwhile youngsters can enjoy a game of snooker upstairs or catch up with a movie. Each of the six ensuite bedrooms have been impeccably designed.

The next project featured is one of most recent chalets in Les Houches. The location is exquisite with 360 degree views, across the Massif du Mont Blanc and set right on the edge of the Khandahar piste. Built from the ground up using traditional materials, this chalet feels as if it has been here forever.

Set over five floors and with 700 square metres there is plenty of room for family and friends. The large open plan living area is on the first floor with double height glazed windows overlooking the breath-taking view.

There is everything that you would ever need for a great escape in this chalet from the comfort of the six en-suite bedrooms each uniquely furnished, to the spa, hot tub on the deck and state of the art cinema in the basement. There is also a bar, a well-stocked wine cellar and games room to complete the experience.
